Background and Experience

An experienced lecturer, training designer and assessor, Ian is a 20-year veteran of the UK’s Royal Air Force. On leaving the military, he established a management consultancy that has encompassed general management, small business ownership and a wide array of training, training design and assessment clients. Ian holds extensive qualifications in training, leadership, management and business, is a Chartered Manager of the UK’s Chartered Management Institute and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. In his spare time, he is a fiction novelist with three books independently published to date, under his penname of Ian Andrew.


As one of less than ten Australian based, level-ii certified SDI facilitators, trained the whole of the skm, Cape Lambert project management team in inter-team communication theory. Using the Retention, Application & Impact of Training (RAIT™) tool to monitor training effectiveness, notably achieved one of the top-5 scores ever recorded in the 7 years and 5000 programs previously measured globally. Responsible for training hundreds of southwest WA based trainers in training and delivery techniques
